Has it really been a month since my last post. Oh dear! .. It seems like only a couple of weeks. :(
(Picture: Me deep in thought.. not many moments when I get a chance to stop and ponder things..... ok.. so it's not me... gotta love stock photography!)
I'm working 7 days a week. During the day I'm at the factory taking care of business, cutting fabric, climbing all over the tables and giving myself some really great bruises. At night, I'm doing quotes and getting back to people; and then, of course, there is our new eCommerce store.
When last I wrote, we had an inventory of 10,000 fabric swatches. Today I'm pleased to report that we have 15,000 with the Warwick Fabrics lineup being added a couple of weeks ago. .
It's almost old news now as I will hopefully be adding another 7,000 products in the coming week. Boy oh boy!.... This store has been a year in the planning and the amount of stress and anxiety, let alone the expense of it all, has been something I wouldn't wish on anybody. Nevertheless, my vision for a one stop shop for people to search for, compare and select fabric is slowly coming to pass.
What has been really pleasing has been the response from people who have stumbled upon the store. Many are visiting for more than an hour which is exceptional compared to the stats we get off our static store. I say people who have 'stumbled' upon us as we are not promoting the shop heavily yet. ... We are lying low, tuning the store and waiting for Google to crawl and index us so that people will be able to find us. The fact that we are getting almost the same amount of store traffic in a day as opposed to the visits our static site receives in a month, has me doing cartwheels through the factory (which only adds to the bruises)
So apologies if I haven't been as regular with updates as I had originally intended. I'll try to up the frequency a bit from here on in.
